Ashutosh-although I am not a paying subscriber, I want to encourage you to keep delivering your message. As an American I can assure you that becoming like “California” is not a goal any country or culture should embrace. The beauty God created is richly diverse! Stand strong-truth tellers are rarely appreciated.
Hi Elizabeth, I wanted to reply yesterday but I preferred sitting down and writing when I had some free time on my hand. Thank you for your kind words and also for the words of encouragement. Money cant really buy the sweet words that you have written over here so don't worry about not being a paid subscriber. I am happy knowing that you are reading and relating to what I am writing. Best, Ash.
Hi Elizabeth, all I can say is I am alive and well. Although I am writing less but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I am focusing my time on engaging with my village community - listening to stories and documenting the last spots of wilderness left near me - and my walk too has garnered some modest attraction, with some local influencial people wanting to join in, so working towards that too. Walking is addictive but its the best addiction that I have ever had. Keep me fit and fresh - how can I complaint. How are you? Hope you are enjoying your time.
The geodesic dome inventor engineer dedicated to life enhancing sustainability on Spaceship Earth, Buckminster Fuller, discussed many of these problems starting way back in the 1930’s. A term he coined, ephemeralizarion, described his observation of “using less but doing more” as a solution to our problems. I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Fuller give a lecture around 1981.
Anyway, to keep this comment short, here is a link to a song by John Denver, called Its About Time. The song is nearly forty years old and describes sentiments that Ash writes about.

"Using less but doing more" sounds like the best solution. I wish more people come to that conclusion.
I had never heard the song by John Denver, but I have it on repeat since the past hour. Thanks for introducing me to this song Mark.
